FAQ’s

How do I book?

Email info@masquephotography.co.uk or call Helen  on 07957 337198

Alternatively go to the ‘Book Your Experience’ Page and pay the deposit there.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes £100 is required on booking. Bank transfer, Paypal or cash are accepted. Head over to purchase here

How far in advance do I need to book if I would like the photographs for a particular date/occasion?

It is a good idea to book 4-6 weeks before you’d like to receive your final images. Digital images can be turned around faster than albums and wall art.

The last dates for Christmas shoots are in mid-November to guarantee delivery. Weekends are in high demand, so please book as soon as you can for those in particular.

When are you open?

We are open 7 days a week and have one session a day. Sessions are 10-2pm or 10-4pm for the full day or joint sessions.

What happens on the day?

We begin with some refreshments and a chat about what to expect in more detail and find out all about what you’d like to achieve from the shoot. I’ll take a look at what you have brought and any photos you particularly like. You will then be introduced to your stylist, who will talk through ideas with you and start on your make-up first, then hair. Once you’re in love with your new look, we’ll say goodbye to the stylist and start your shoot. When we’re finished we’ll arrange a time for you to come back to view your images around a week or so later.

Do I have to know how to pose?

Not at all, no, we give full direction through-out. Leave that to me!.

Can I bring my own ideas/props?

I would love you too. This is a collaborative experience where you are free to make suggestions, show me photographs you love etc. and we can steer the creative direction where-ever you would like to.

What do I need to bring?

Bring whatever you feel amazing in! We will use 3-4 outfits during the session. For Boudoir we suggest your favourite sets of lingerie, an all-in-one, stockings, something from your wardrobe, jewellery and matching footwear. If you’re creating a wedding gift, bring any accessories you have for your big day. If your photographs are for your partner, accessories which are special to him or you both. A full visual styling guide is given once you’ve booked in.

For the Wise Women sessions please bring fitted outfits with flattering necklines and colour for you. I would suggest one dark, one light and one colour outfit. Avoid anything too jazzy or patterned if possible. Also complimentary jewellery.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ACCESSORIES IN THE STUDIO I CAN BORROW?

Yes we have various accessories you are welcome to add in to your shoot. Various hats, flowers, bouquet, veil, garter belts, high heels, kimono, sheer/lace dressing gowns, white sheet, angel wings, feather collar, jewellery etc. We even have a few spare pairs of heels.

How should I prepare for the day?

Pay attention to your nails, eyebrows, hair removal and roots, come clean-faced, wear loose-fitting clothing, remove obvious labels, try on everything before-hand, pre-curl hair-extensions if curls required, organise a night-out afterwards if you can!

What does the makeover consist of?

You will be treated to a full professional makeover including false lashes and dry hairstyling. We will collaborate with you to decide what works best for you. As we would like your hair to hold its style as long as possible, please do whatever is best for you to encourage this. If you would like the make-up artist to use your own lipstick/foundation etc. please feel free to bring it along. A makeover questionnaire is sent out to you prior to your session.

You must be 18-years-old or over. You can never be too old. We have photographed women up to the age of 70!

What is your retouching philosophy?

I believe your photographs should preserve your natural beauty with only subtle retouching where necessary. I remove distractions, blemishes, spots, bruises etc. and lightly smooth the skin. All the good work is done in the posing and lighting. Just a note to say, if you’d prefer more or less just let me know. I will always make any tweaks you would like at your request.

How do I view my images?

You’ll be able to view your final images a week or two later in the studio or via zoom if you live a long distance away or you need a quick turn-around.

You also have the option to state any preferences like when we do so and which exact photographs you are allowing.

What are your most popular ways to present your images?
