Katy marks her 40th birthday in a boho-inspired naked yoga shoot!

Dear women of the world, let me remind you of the ocean of strength that lives within you. Rest a while and listen as I tell you of the great powers resting there on your hips, on your breast, in the fibers that twist and twine within your flesh, of the greatness you possess in which I think you need to be reminded.

Turning 40 definitely deserves celebrating and Katy wanted to mark the occasion, embracing her body and all its imperfections (her words) Prior to the shoot we discussed how she would like to be photographed and she wanted to evoke a boho-feel to her images. She also wanted to incorporate her connection to her spiritual side, along with some naked yoga poses. She is planning to open a yoga studio and wanted some photos to hang on the wall.

She created a mood board, which enabled us to plan exactly what she would need to turn her inspiration into reality. There was minimal lingerie, opting instead for draping fabric/gowns around her instead with her favourite flowers and bangles. The pièce de résistance was her ‘Selenite Crown’ which helps connects her to the spiritual realm.

On her insta @ love_life_north she wrote…

“A post to honour and give thanks to the empowering @masque_photography.

Helen you have given me my fire. You have captured the essence of my soul. You bought out the women that was trapped beneath the surface of my skin.

@sonia.schofield.mua thank you for understanding just what I needed without me being able to express it. You were able to deliver everything and more. You filled me with confidence from the very beginning, I’m so grateful you were my MUA.

I can not recommend this experience enough to remind you of the ocean of strength that lives within you. The greatness of our bodies. May we love them. May we honour them. May we love ourselves first.”

She was over the moon with her frame of her naked yoga photographs and included the rest in our signature reveal box, which has a frame lid with mounted prints behind it. She can rotate which she would like to have showing, at any one time.

So just a note to say..

You can do this for you, you can get involved in the creative process as much or as little as you would like. Do you have any ideas of your own? Are you ready to embrace your body fully? I’m here for you. Get in touch here
